Marina Ong is the Lead Teacher at FootPrints Student Care, bringing extensive experience in children’s education, literacy, and learning support. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the National University of Singapore and a Primary Teaching Certificate in Speech Communication Arts from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is also trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach and neurofeedback.
Marina taught at the Julia Gabriel Centre for over 15 years, working with hundreds of children to develop communication confidence, literacy, self-expression, and collaborative skills through drama, stories, movement, and play. She also worked with children experiencing dyslexia and reading difficulties, adapting lessons and materials to their individual strengths, needs, and pace of learning.
Since 2019, Marina has worked as a Neurofeedback Practitioner, completing over 1,000 hours of brain-training with clients ranging from young children to adults. Her work supports the brain’s own capacity for regulation through neurofeedback.
At FootPrints, Marina brings these experiences together in a structured and supportive after-school environment, helping children develop attention, organisation, emotional regulation, literacy, and independent learning skills. She believes children learn best when they feel understood, engaged, and supported, and is passionate about helping each child recognise and build on their strengths.
